Help us celebrate the 25th Annual Lake Shore Clean Up Saturday, September 15th, 8am~Noon with Barren River Lake State Resort Park, U.S. Army Corps of Enginees, Friends of Barren River and WBKO 13. Meet at the marina boat ramp to sign up, pick up your trash bags and wait for a ride on a boat that will take you to various places along the shoreline.
After a morning of hard work, enjoy a FREE lunch, live entertainment,
and door prizes.

Running For St. Jude 5K is a race to benefit the kids of St. Jude Children’s Hospital. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay.

The 10 hOURs Volunteer Challenge ends today, September 3rd. Please make sure all your Volunteer hours from May 17, 2012 ~ September 3, 2012 are logged in by this Wednesday. Confirmation of completion will be emailed to you by Friday, September 7th.

Those that complete the 10 hOURs Volunteer Challenge are invited to attend the Awards Celebration with their family on September 18th, 6pm at Bowling Green City Hall.

Carry-On Campaign: Donate new or gently used luggage or duffle bags to foster children in the area. Bags can be dropped off to any South Central Bank now through May 7th. Contact Hollie at 781-8112 for more details.

Center for Courageous Kids Salon: Body Works Chiropractic located at 2965 N Mill Ave in BG is collecting new bottles of fingernail polish and remover through the month of May for the salon. Patients will get $1 credit for each item donated! For more information contact Dr. Amy Brumlow at 904-2639.

VIA 2012 Rookie Volunteer Awards

The Volunteers In Action (VIA) held their 23rd Annual Awards Reception this afternoon at the Christ Episcopal Church. One of the groups KidStuffAroundTown nominated won the VIA 2012 Rookie Volunteer Award. Congratulations goes to the Kiwanis Youth Leadership Clubs which includes Briarwood’s K-Kids, BGHS Key Club, Warren East Key Club, and WKU’s Circle K. The following students were at the reception to except the award: Faith Mills (President of Circle K), Callie Denham, Cesalee Hopwood, Drew Crocker (all three from BGHS Key Club) and (from Briarwood K-Kids) Drew Fleschner, Alyssa Fleschner, and Brooklyn Goodrich. Great Job and Thank you for all your volunteering services!!!!!!!!!!!!!
